Eucalen Door Wreath - Pumpkin, Maple & Berry Ring

Eucalyptus stems form the base of this one rather than bare rattan, so the ring reads green underneath the autumn colour instead of brown. Silk maple leaves, berry sprays and a small pumpkin sit over the top in orange and rust. Silk-stocking flowers — the stretched fabric-over-wire kind — give a few of the blooms a translucency that moulded plastic cannot manage, and they catch light from behind.

It suits a door that gets some daylight, since the eucalyptus and the stocking flowers both look better lit from the side or behind than flat on. Indoors it works above a console table or on the wall at the end of a hallway. The orange is warm rather than bright, closer to terracotta than to a Halloween orange, which means it sits comfortably next to neutral paint and natural wood.
