A flat braided coaster with the coiled, ropey texture of woven rattan. The strands spiral out from the centre in warm straw and russet tones, so the pattern reads as concentric rings rather than a printed motif. Each one is a single piece — no backing, no rim — which keeps it thin enough to sit flush under a mug without wobbling.
Sets of two or four, which is the right quantity for a coffee table or a small kitchen island rather than a full dining table. The woven surface takes the heat of a mug well and hides the odd ring mark far better than cork or slate. They also work as a base for a candle or a small plant pot, where the texture does more visual work than a coaster normally gets to do.
Wipe with a damp cloth and let them dry flat; the braid holds moisture longer than a hard surface, so don't leave them soaking. Colours vary slightly between batches because of the fibre dye. Vandora prefers texture that earns its place on the table.
