A silicone mould in the shape of a layered autumn leaf, with the veins cut into the cavity deeply enough that they come through crisply in the cast. Silicone flexes, so a finished piece pops out without chipping the edges — the reason silicone is worth using over a rigid mould for anything with fine detail.
It takes soy or paraffin wax for candles, and it works equally well with resin, plaster and air-dry ceramic if you would rather make an ornament than a candle. Two leaf designs, or the pair together, which is the sensible option if you want a matched set on a mantel or intend to make several as gifts.
