Pressed glass petals open around the bulb in a shallow flower 25 cm across and only 12.5 cm deep. The glass comes clear, amber or olive green, and each option changes what happens underneath: clear stays bright and crisp, amber warms everything below it, olive drops the whole thing a shade cooler and more muted. The brass hardware at the cap is small enough to keep the glass the subject.
A wide, shallow shade is forgiving. Hung over a dining table it covers the surface without dropping low enough to block a sightline.
