Lumibook Foldable Table Lamp

The Lumibook opens like a book, hinged so the two halves fold flat to 2.5 cm thick or fan open to a full 360 degrees depending on how much light you want and from which angle. The panels are wood-framed with a tear-resistant paper diffuser, so the glow comes through soft rather than direct, closer to a paper lantern than a hard plastic shade.

It runs on a built-in battery for up to 8 hours, with three light modes, warm, cool and natural, switched with a single control, so it moves easily between a nightstand, a desk, or a bag for travel. It comes in three sizes, small at 10 by 8 cm up to large at 22 by 17 cm, so the same design scales from a compact travel light to a proper desk lamp for evening work.
