Two lights live in one circle. The outer ring is backlit, throwing a crescent of warm white onto the wall behind it, while a small spotlight set into the face points forward and can be aimed at a page. The disc is 19 cm across and only 6.5 cm deep, made from metal with a frosted acrylic front, and it comes in green, black, white or orange, with the coloured versions reading as objects even when the light is off.
The pairing is what makes it a bedside fixture. Run the ring on its own and you get a low glow that will not wake anyone; add the spotlight and one person can read while the other sleeps.
