Glass Globe Wall Lamp

A tinted glass globe sits at the end of a curved brass-finish arm, held in a small collar so the sphere looks balanced rather than clamped. The glass is thick and coloured through, in amber, blue, smoke grey or rose, and it changes the light rather than merely covering it: amber warms a room noticeably, smoke grey mutes it, blue cools it toward evening. Overall the fixture reaches 22.7 cm from the wall and stands 15 cm tall, with an 8 cm mounting depth.

Its size makes it a bedside fixture first. Mounted at pillow height it takes the place of a table lamp and gives the nightstand back, and the curved arm brings the globe forward far enough to read under. Hung as a pair in a hallway it gives a rhythm to a plain wall. In a small living room or beside a bathroom mirror it produces a soft, coloured glow that a white shade cannot. The manufacturer suggests spaces of roughly 3 to 6 m² per fitting.

It takes an E27 bulb up to 60W, not included, and a clear low-wattage LED keeps the tint of the glass honest. The lamp is hardwired to a wall box. Two of them, one either side of a bed, is the arrangement most people land on, and it is the one Vandora would suggest first.
