An opal glass globe on a slim wrought-iron arm, and the glass is the reason to buy it. Opal is white through its whole thickness rather than coated, so the sphere lights evenly from every angle with no visible bulb and no bright patch at the base. Two diameters are made, 12 cm and 15 cm, and the smaller one is the better proportion where several are used together. The ironwork is kept thin so the globe stays the subject.

Even, shadowless output is what makes this the fixture for a mirror. Mounted either side of a bathroom or dressing mirror at face height, a pair lights both sides of a face at once, which a single overhead fitting cannot do. It also works in a bedroom at bedside height, and along a hallway in a run of three or four where the repeated spheres give a plain wall some order. Hotels use them for the same reason.

It takes a G9 bulb, not included, and runs on 220 to 240V through a standard wall mount. In a bathroom, keep it outside the zones around a bath or shower and have the wiring done to code by an electrician. The glass unscrews for cleaning. Vandora keeps both sizes because bathrooms and bedrooms rarely want the same one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install this near a bathroom mirror?

Yes, it is designed for exactly that, mounted either side of a mirror at face height so a pair lights both sides of a face evenly. Keep it outside the zones around a bath or shower and have the wiring done to code by an electrician, since it is a bathroom-adjacent fixture rather than a fully sealed one. The opal glass gives even, shadowless light with no visible bulb, which is what a mirror needs.

What size should I choose?

The 12 cm globe is the better proportion when you are installing several together, such as a run of three or four along a hallway. The 15 cm globe reads more as a single statement piece, suited to a bedside or a lone mirror light. Both use the same opal glass and give the same even spread.

What bulb does it take?

It takes a G9 bulb, not included, running on 220 to 240V. Because the opal glass is white through its whole thickness rather than coated, the bulb itself never shows through as a bright spot. Any warm G9 LED will suit it.

How do I clean the glass?

The glass globe unscrews from the arm for cleaning, so you can wipe both the inside and outside without working around the fitting. Do this with the power off and the glass cool. Reattach it snugly so it sits evenly on the wrought iron arm.

Is it safe to use in a hallway or bedroom too?

Yes, beyond bathrooms it works well at bedside height or spaced along a hallway, where the repeated spheres give a plain wall some order. The thin wrought iron arm keeps the globe as the visual subject in any of these settings. It runs on a standard wall mount rather than needing anything bathroom-specific outside the wet zones.
