Five designs are made and they differ in the face, the hat and the mix of plaid — enough variation that a group of them reads as a set of characters rather than five of the same thing. The fabric is stitched rather than printed, so the plaid holds its shape at the seams.
These are props first. They sit on a shelf, a porch step or a hall table, or hang on a wall or a door as part of a larger autumn display. They take a party well — a harvest table, a school or shop window, a Thanksgiving buffet — because they are soft, light and there is nothing to break if one gets knocked over.
