Wabi-Sabi Pendant Light

The Wabi-Sabi Pendant Light is cast from smooth resin, deliberately understated in shape, in either soft white or an earthy burnt orange. Light passes through the material unevenly, the way it would through hand-thrown ceramic, so the glow has a texture to it rather than a flat, uniform wash. There's no sharp edge anywhere on the shade; every surface curves gently into the next, which is where the wabi-sabi reference actually earns its name rather than just borrowing it.

It suits a reading corner, a bedside table, or a small dining nook where a single warm source is enough. Because the form is quiet rather than sculptural, it works well grouped with plants, low furniture and other natural materials without competing for attention. Two or three hung at slightly different heights over a breakfast nook read as a considered arrangement rather than a matched set.

It stands 18 cm (7 in) tall and 12.5 cm (4.9 in) wide, and the cord extends up to 150 cm (59 in) so the drop can be set low over a table or a side chair. It takes a standard E27 bulb, included in the box, and the fixture ships ready to wire into a standard ceiling rose.
